Thankful

This past weekend was Canadian Thanksgiving. I haven't put much thought into holidays over the last couple of years because I was living across the country. This year, I'm home, back in Ontario and although I didn't spend this Thanksgiving with my family this year, I'm grateful to be home. I'm grateful to be close enough to everyone that I'm within a one-day drive to everyone in any direction.

Over the last few months, a lot of things in my life have changed. I've lost people I cared about. I've gained new friends. I've moved thousands of miles. I've downsized everything I own. I've grown both personally and professionally. I'm grateful for every change, even the hard and uncomfortable ones.

I'm thankful this year so for much that I can't even list it all.

I'm thankful for the friends who have allowed me to intrude on their life. I'm thankful for the little girl they have who makes me smile every day. I'm thankful to their families for allowing me to tag along to get-togethers.

I'm thankful to my family who, even though I don't see them a lot, they understand that I can't always be around and they continue to invite me to come visit anytime.

I'm thankful for the friends I have who keep me focused on being an entrepreneur and push me forward with Chasing Happiness even when I find myself getting off track.

I'm thankful for the ability to travel the world.

I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to drive across this country over the summer.

I'm thankful to be back in Ontario.

I'm thankful that the life I'm building is exactly what I want it to be.

Life isn't always easy, sometimes it even gets ugly, but no matter what there is always a lesson to be learned and personal growth to be had. For those things, good and bad, I'm thankful every day.
