A World Wide Disney Christmas Tree

For those of you who follow our podcast, you will know that this week I interviewed Beth from The Collectionears Club on YouTube about this awesome idea she has to bring together a bunch of Disney Christmas trees from around the world.

This is Beth. She started The Collectionears Club as a way to help showcase her love of Disney while also showcasing other peoples love of Disney as well.

I met Beth about 6 months ago and her love of all things Disney is one of the things that makes you love her. She speaks about the Disney community the way people used to talk about communities they lived in. With warmth, caring and an appreciation that I think in some ways we have lost these days.

When you ask her what it is about Disney that makes her feel good she reminisces about when she was little and all the wonderful memories she has of her family at Disney as well as her sense of wonder that Disney movies gave her as a child.

When I talked to Beth about this idea she had, I asked her why she wanted to do this. She told me about a community she used to live in when she first got married where everyone in her neighborhood would bake cookies and go around the neighborhood to everyone’s houses. They would sit around and drink hot cocoa and admire each others Christmas trees and holiday décor. It was a way to get to know the people in your community but also gave everyone a reason to feel joy and a sense of belonging. It gave her a real sense of having a family and community she belonged to when she was younger. Listening to her speak about it brought to mind the old days before the internet and social media when people took the time to care about their neighbors and the people who lived in their communities.

Beth’s idea is to have everyone who loves Disney or maybe just enjoys Disney to send her pictures and/or videos of how they do Christmas. If your kids love Olaf and you use Olaf stockings she wants a picture or a video of it. If you and your family get a Disney ornament for your tree, she wants to see it and even know why it is so special to you. If your family is anything like mine, you have a ton of Disney décor around your house for the holiday season. Beth wants all of it! She wants to take all of our videos and images and create a giant slideshow video of how we all do Disney over Christmas from around the world.

Her goal is to create a video that we can all sit down and watch with our family’s on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning and be able to share an experience with people from around the world.

She is hoping to make this a Christmas tradition and I love that idea so I’m sharing it here for all of you who don’t listen to our podcast. If you want to participate you can find her YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o6fQZRe5Mk

You can also email her directly: [email protected]

Or message her on Social Media: Instagram: @the_collectionears_club
Twitter: @thecollectionears
Facebook: The Collectionears Club

These are the images I have sent her from my personal tree this year. I hope lots of people take part in this because I personally love the idea and would love to see a huge video come together from all over the world.

Now I know a lot of you reading this (some of my family for sure) don’t understand why people love Disney and so you won’t be taking part in this and that is okay, but if you know someone who does love Disney and Might want to participate please send them the link to Beth’s YouTube channel.

I hope you all have a wonderful and magical holiday season

Sending you all love and light

Crystal

Showing Up Unapologetically

I’m not a fan of New Years resolutions. I don’t think that waiting until Jan 1st to make a change you want to make in your life makes any sense. Making a huge life change (which is typically what a resolution is) is complicated and requires a lot of planning and support. Most people set

Changes are coming

There are going to be some changes coming to the Chasing Happiness website over the next few weeks so blog posts might every few weeks until June rather than weekly. I will of course keep you all updated on the changes and can’t wait to see what you all think of how the site will

You’re Too Much

“You love too much.” “You love too hard.” “You care more than you should.” “You’re too much for people to handle.” “You’re going to get hurt if you keep allowing yourself to care this much.” I’ve heard it all. At some point in my life, I’ve heard it from everyone. When I was a kid,

40 books…..It’s been a rough month

This month I’ve found it hard to focus enough to do a lot of reading. I know we are all struggling right now with the Covid-19 lockdowns and winter not to mention just how emotionally drained we are all starting to feel. This month I only have a couple books in my list of 40 because
